Women’s circles have been held for centuries.
Traditionally—and still in certain tribes around the world—women gathered in a sacred circle around the full moon or the new moon to share, sing, dance, and support one another.
“Red tents” were places where women would come together during their monthly bleed, which often occurred in sync with the new moon for many women. There, they held rituals and ceremonies, shared with one another, and during this sacred time in their cycle received visions for the coming month(s) for their communities.
